Great brand - a better keyboard

Pros:
Build quality, feels very solid
Even, bright back-light
Cherry MX reds are a delight to type on - wow, is mechanical the way to go or what?
Wrist rest is a nice touch - free and detachable, not silly hard plastic either that comes with other keyboards (or none at all like many other brands!)
Just looks so sleek and cool!
Gaming mode
Very customizable - check out max keyboard's website for more
Fast shipping as always with Amazon

Cons
No dedicated media keys (they are shared with the F1-6 keys along with Fn key), but that's a non issue for me; i don't use them
So nice i cant recklessly eat whatever food i want while at my computer

Other Notes
If you're like me and obsessively read reviews for products before buying them (and who wouldn't for a $100+ keyboard?) then you'll know that there are dozens of companies that make quality mechanical keyboards, making the decision a little maddening. Luckily i wanted one with a back light so that narrowed down the choices for me. Some enthusiast forums (geekhack and/or reddit) i came across seemed to be skeptical of this board because it shares the same casing as other, presumably lower-quality brands (x-armour and ione? if i remember); however, from what i can tell, this is unfounded because this keyboard feels very solid and boasts exceptional build quality. If one goes to the max keyboard website, they actually do a part-by-part technical breakdown of how their boards, circuitry, and quality is better! So, I cannot recommend this brand enough.

Also, to those wary of typos on cherry mx reds: i'm a pretty poor typist - I've been making a few mistakes but nothing crazy/ out of the ordinary for me. I can see myself getting more comfortable with the keys in the coming weeks as well.

So, overall, just buy it, you wont regret it.
I have used the original keyboards for a very long time without any real need to switch to a mechanical one. A friend had recommended that I switch due to the amazing feeling that mechanical keyboards have and he was right. I for one am a very picky person with the electronics that I use because of my preferences for aesthetics and looks. I have a huge favor for the color blue and this keyboard won me over despite it being a bit pricey as its keys are blue color back lit. Another important thing is that it has on the fly switching between normal use and gaming use. It's fast, it's easy. If you don't mind spending a little bit extra then this is an amazing buy.
I was tired of gaming on older "rubber dome" style keyboards. I recently switched to a Razer Black Widow Ultimate mechanical type keyboard. I enjoyed the tactile feedback of the mechanical style switches. The only problem I had with the Razer was that it was the Cherry MX Blue style of switches ( I really wish I had tried them out before purchasing). After a few weeks I tried a friend's mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Red switches. I loved them. They had a the same tactile feedback but there wasn't as much force required to reach the activation point of each key.

I would also like to say the Nighthawk x9 in particular is a very well made and sturdy keyboard. It has a solid feel to it and the a good weight that won't move around on your desk too much. I also really enjoy back-light keyboards as IO do almost all of my gaming at night or in low light environments (AKA Man Cave). The Nighthawk's white LEDs are some of the brightest LEDs I have seen on a keyboard. I chose the white because of the higher contrast between the keys. It isn't as aesthetically pleasing as some other keyboards but it does the job (i.e. being able to see the keys in low light) very well.

Overall, the Nighthawk is a fantastically made keyboard and I would highly recommend it for everyone from your average secretary typist to the most hardcore of gamers.
This is my first mechanical keyboard, and I have to say I'm a huge fan. The build feels solid, the keys travel super smoothly, and the red backlighting is an awesome touch. The wrist rest that comes with the keyboard smells kind of funky at first, but the smell seems to have gone away by the second day of use, and it's comfortable. I bought some rubber o-rings from WASD (40A-R) that should come in in a few days, and I'm looking forward to how this keyboard will feel with some dampening on the bottoming-out (which I tend to do a lot, I'm kind of a heavy-handed typist) and a little less travel distance.

Edit: My o-rings came in the mail, so I put them on earlier tonight. The stabilized keys (space bar, shift keys, enter and backspace keys, etc) were really easy to take off and put back on. Really pleased!
Everything i was looking for

Feels great when typing and the lights are adjustable to 4 settings. Low, medium, high, and then a settings where its goes through all the ranges. I havent had any issues with the usb hub or the audio ports and the usb cable is braided and just long enough to reach my machine. Only thing that got me was a "gamer" setting you can choose that disables the windows key. lets you know when you have enabled this with a light right next to the caps lock. simply had to use the funtion keys with F12 key (i think).
A little expensive but a very nice keyboard. Would recommend.

Pros:
Red Keys

Cons:
Expensive

Other:
Added O-ring mod to make the keys quieter, it's a nice feature.
Keyboard of the gods!

This keyboard is expensive and completely unnecessary, but if you if you have the money to waste it's pretty damn nice.

This is my first mechanical keyboard so I don't know what other switches feel like (blue, black, brown)
but these are red cherry mx, and supposedly the easiest to press down. Whatever, I do like the feel of them alot though, and it's an absolute dream to type on!

Build quality is excellent, it has a rubberized type of coating on it that feels real nice, and it has a simple classy style without a bunch of logos and crap all over it. It comes with a gel type wrist rest, 2 usb 2.0 ports (100mA), a headphone jack, and a mic jack. Personally these extra ports are a huge plus, I use them all except the mic jack.

And nothing says "I'm a pc gaming nerd" like red backlit keys! Seriously though they are pretty cool, they are all individually backlit, and there are 4 different brightness settings: pulse, high, med, and low. personally I like low. pulse is cool for a few minutes but ultimately pretty pointless. You can also turn it off if you're not into glowing lights and crap on your computer equipment.

Also a huge plus: you just plug it in and everything works as it should. No software, no drivers, no bullcrap. If only every piece of hardware were like this.

Overall an extremely solid piece of hardware, if you are really serious about what you type on, go for it.
Very satisfied with this keyboard, super sensitive keys that have a satisfying click when used. The lighting looks great and can be adjusted to low, medium, high, and some random one which basically keeps flashing slowly. The hub is only usb 2.0 but it works great with my RAT7. Defiantly should but this keyboard
It's like it knows me!

The current mech market is saturated with great brands, filco das etc. But I could not find a keyboard with the exception of razer that had lit key's. My keyboard is located in a pretty dark and uncontrolled region of my desk. So a lit keyboard would be a bonus. I know, learn how to type, but sometimes there are keys that I seldom use hence I have to visually find them on my keyboard. When I found MAX keyboard not much was known of the new company. The amazon entry only had 1 positive comment at the time so I was reluctant. But I took chance with MAX and I was not disappointed. Out of the box the keyboard is pretty heavy and extremely durable. The matte finish is comfortable and is able to take a beating from a crabby toddler. This thing is sensitive and amazing to to type on. I have noticed that using this keyboard has increased my proficiency in type and I have lost 50 pounds cause of it jk. The USB inputs and the speaker inputs are a bonus and are heavily utilized. The nylon mesh around the cable keep's the cables from being frayed. I've owned this keyboard for about 6 months and I couldn't be happier.
Keyboard died after 35 days!!!! For the price, I expect a solid keyboard that will last for a long time. Unfortunately, I missed the return window by 5 days so now I have to deal with the manufacturer. I will update this review depending on my experience with warranty service.

Pros : Great when it is working
Cons : Keyboard died for no apparent reason!!!!

Update: Great customer service from the manufacturer. I was a very happy on how they handled my warranty service request. They will be sending a replacement. They really stand behind their product. I am upping this rating to a full 5 stars since I really liked the keyboard and with a great warranty service experience, I highly recommend this product and manufacturer!!!
